BIOGRAPHY

Born in Ankara in 1980, she is a ceramic artist and art historian (BA, MA, Hacettepe University). While working in her art studio, Can opened seven personal exhibitions between 2006 and 2019. Between 2012 and 2017, she wrote for and worked as the editor of the culture and art section of Solfasol, a local newspaper based in Ankara. She organised several interdisciplinary public art events and exhibitions between 2014 and 2019 with the AsiKeçi Ankara Artists’ Initiative, of which she is a member and founder. She taught Curating and Exhibition Techniques at the TOBB University of Economics and Technology. She worked for the Rahmi M. Koc Museum in Ankara as a museum manager between 2020 and 2023. She is one of the founders of the namekân community of creative people that brings together creative individuals for dialogue and events on platforms that overcome spatial impossibilities.

Currently, she is an author and contributor at The Art Newspaper Turkey. She teaches Art History at Başkent University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture. She continues her academic studies in the Hacettepe University Art History-Doctorate Programme, focusing on the fields of cultural policies, cultural heritage, adaptive reuse, museology, public art and urban aesthetics.
