The Artificer

BIOGRAPHY
I believe that the true value of work lies in the depth of experience it brings rather than in relentless effort. My journey as an artist, curator, and art historian has always been shaped by this perspective—seeking meaning beyond mere achievement.
Born in Ankara in 1980, I am a ceramic artist and an art historian with a BA and MA from Hacettepe University, where I am currently pursuing my doctoral studies. My academic focus revolves around cultural policies, cultural heritage, adaptive reuse, museology, public art, and urban aesthetics—fields that allow me to explore the complex relationships between art, space, and society.
Art has always been both a personal and collective pursuit for me. Between 2006 and 2019, I held seven solo exhibitions while also engaging in curatorial and editorial work. As the editor and writer for the culture and art section of Solfasol, an independent Ankara-based newspaper (2012–2017), I sought to contribute to the city’s cultural discourse. My passion for interdisciplinary collaboration led me to co-found AsiKeçi Ankara Artists’ Initiative (2014–2019), where I organized public art events and exhibitions that challenged conventional boundaries.
My professional journey has taken me through various roles—from teaching Curating and Exhibition Techniques at TOBB University of Economics and Technology to managing the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in Ankara (2020–2023). In 2024, I lectured on Art History at Başkent University and contributed as an author to The Art Newspaper Turkey. I am also one of the founders of namekân, a community that fosters creative dialogue beyond spatial limitations.
Currently, I serve as the coordinator of the LÖSEV Atatürk House and the LÖSEV Museum, where I strive to create meaningful cultural experiences. My work—whether in academia, curation, or artistic practice—has always been driven by a desire to engage with history, space, and people in ways that inspire new perspectives.
